Singer/Songwriter and acoustic guitar aficionado Dustin Prinz releases his latest EP Feeling It. The four song EP alternates between fun upbeat guitar and tranquil love songs. This collection of original compositions highlights Dustins uncanny ability to harmoniously craft lyrics and musical riffs. The new EP Feeling It is available now exclusively at dustinprinz.com.
The EP kicks off with the title track Feeling It, a head bobber reminiscent of early Jason Mraz. The second song, First Sign Of Love utilizes synthesizers and pianos setting the mood for a story about the insecurities of new found love. Mr. Twiddle Thumbs follows as a fun Jack Johnson-esque tune that lingers in the listeners mind. The EP ends with Dustin on his guitar, performing the ballad No Need To Know.
Feeling It, First Sign Of Love, and Mr. Twiddle Thumbs were recorded, mixed and mastered at Power Base Studio with Dan Kane at the helm. The final track No Need To Know was recorded live by Dustin Prinz. Dustin performs all the drum, vocal, guitar and bass tracks on the EP. Dan Kane produced the collection and performed piano and organ on two of the tracks.
Dustin has experienced great success on YouTube. Recognized for his entertaining acoustic covers and originals, his channel recently surpassed 5,000,000 million organic views, with an impressive 27,000 subscribers. As an early YouTuber, Dustin recognized the need to create intriguing videos for his fans. All videos for the new EP combine animation and stop motion to produce highly entertaining lyric videos. All editing and video production is done by Dustin himself.
Out of necessity, Dustin has developed a unique style of play. Inspired by his days as a drummer, he incorporates a driving beat on the body of his guitar while playing and singing. Dustin created a style he refers to as Parapicking, a right hand technique combining hybrid picking with percussion. His style caught the attention of guitar tutorial website Jamplay.com and together they created one of their most popular lesson series called Parapicking for Knuckleheads.
Touring as an independent artist, Dustins popularity continues to rise as he introduces his unique style to the masses. Dustin Prinz on Parapicking, “I have worked hard to develop a unique musical style, inspired by some of my favorites: Michael Einziger of Incubus, Bon Iver, Travis Meeks of Days Of The New, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Tommy Emmanuel, Rodrigo y Gabriella and John Gomm, to name a few. My primary reason for being is to encourage others to find their passion and take a chance. There really isnt anything more gratifying than waking up to work on something you love. When I get a message from a fan, describing how one of my songs has inspired them to pick up the guitar – I am reminded why I do this”.
