TECH N9NE recently announced his upcoming studio album, Special Effects, dropping May 4, 2015. The Kansas City rapper has released three singles off the project: “Aw Yeah (interVENTion),” “Dyin’ Flyin’,” and “Hood Go Crazy,” which features 2 Chainz and B.o.B. “Hood Go Crazy” has been enjoying nationwide radio play, and also debuted at #29 on the Rap Chart. Tech’s tour- and label-mate, MURS, is also releasing an album this spring. Have A Nice Life will be MURS‘ first solo release since signing with Strange Music, and is set to drop on May 19, 2015. MURS recently released the video for the first single on the album for the track “Okey Dog.” Watch the video here:

The Special Effects album and tour arrive after a banner 2014 for Tech N9ne. In May, he released his Strangeulation collabos album, which debuted as the #1 independent, #1 rap and #5 overall album in the country on The Billboard Top 200.

TECH N9NE‘s “Fragile” single, which also featured Kendrick Lamar, ¡Mayday! and Kendall Morgan, was Tech’s biggest radio hit to date, peaking at #11 on the Rhythmic radio chart. The cut’s success led to Tech performing the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in June.

As Strangeulation and “Fragile” ruled the charts and radio, respectively, TECH N9NE was traversing the United States and Canada in 2014, headlining three tours. The Independent Grind Tour featured Freddie Gibbs, Jarren Benton and Psych Ward Druggies, while his Tech N9ne’s Band Of Psychos Tour paired TECH N9NE with a live band for the first time in his career. TECH N9NE also went north of the border for the 2014 Strangeulation Canadian Tour and performed at several festivals including the Aftershock Music Festival and Slipknot‘s annual Knotfest.
