Saosin Re-Release Iconic Self-Titled Album on Vinyl

via Smartpunk Records

The release of Saosin’s self-titled album changed the trajectory of post-hardcore and emo culture and remains a mainstay in the collections of scene aficionados almost two decades later. The album, originally released on September 26, 2006, debuted on the Top 25 album charts and earned the band a certified gold hit with the single “You’re Not Alone.”

Now, almost exactly 18 years since its original release, Smartpunk Records is re-releasing the iconic album on vinyl with a special run of pressings featuring the band’s own personal touches. This re-release is the first and only band-certified re-release since the original release and pressing in 2006. The band will be touring and playing the album in its entirety in 2025.

It is available on vinyl via Smartpunk Records here.

When asked about the band’s choice to re-release the album with Smartpunk Records, Saosin bassist Chris Sorenson comments, “We have always wanted to add a personal touch to a vinyl release of this record, this both honors and updates the original, as well as makes available the music we made nearly 20 years ago.”

ABOUT SAOSIN:
Saosin, a post-hardcore band known for their dynamic sound and emotional intensity, made headlines with the return of vocalist Cove Reber. Reber, who initially fronted the band from 2004 to 2010, played a key role in shaping their signature sound with his powerful, melodic vocals on fan-favorite releases like *Saosin* (2006) and *In Search of Solid Ground* (2009). His return marks a reunion that has excited long-time fans, as the band revisits the energy and chemistry that defined their early success. With Reber back in the lineup, Saosin is poised to reignite their unique blend of post-hardcore and alternative rock.

ABOUT SMARTPUNK RECORDS:
Smartpunk has been a recognizable name in the scene for a long time (Remember that sponsored Warped Tour stage?!). After exchanging several hands and countless ideas of what it could and should be, they decided to start a record label in 2016 with the main idea of focusing solely on reissuing records that have been out of print or never on vinyl. After all, they’re a label of vinyl dorks themselves! After releasing Set Your GoalsMutiny and Gameface‘s Good, they started to venture into signing newer bands. They actively balance in between many worlds — putting out amazing music from friends and bands that rock, reissuing older titles, and partnering with other incredible labels in our scene and doing exclusive color variants of their releases.

“Since forming the record label, Smartpunk Records has released timeless albums such as Less Than Jake‘s Anthem, Nominee‘s Lowlife, RIVALS’ Sad Looks Pretty on Me, Virginity‘s POPMORTEM, and melodic skate punkers The Swellers My Everest.
