Las Vegas (April 11, 2014) – The AXIS Powered by Monster will kick off its first Mexican Independence Day weekend celebration with a special performance by multi-Grammy Award-winning and top-selling salsa artist of all time, Marc Anthony. As part of his Cambio de Piel Tour 2014, Anthony will perform inside the newly-renovated theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 9:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, April 17 at 10 a.m.
One of the most influential artists of his time, Anthony has sold over 30 million albums worldwide making him a true ambassador of Latin music and culture. He has been nominated and has won numerous awards including Grammy Awards for “Best Tropical Latin Album” and “Best Latin Pop Album;” Latin Grammy Awards for “Song of the Year,” “Best Salsa Album,” and “Record of the Year;” American Music Awards for “Favorite Latin Artist;” Billboard Latin Music Awards for “Tropical Album of the Year,” “Tropical Airplay Song of the Year,” and “Hot Latin Track of the Year” and Lo Nuestro Awards for “Best Male Artist,” “Song of the Year” and “Salsa Artist of the Year.”
Anthony is best known for songs including “Nadie Como Ella,” “Vivir Lo Nuestro,” “Vivir Mi Vida” and his smash hit “I Need to Know” which helped usher in the Latin pop explosion in 1999 and made way for other English hits such as “You Sang to Me,” and his collaboration with Pitbull in “Rain Over Me.”
